During travel we love to indulge ourselves in drinking beverages and eating foods that we would normally steer away from. According to Science Daily we gain almost a pound during travel. During travel we love to indulge ourselves in drinking beverages and eating foods that we would normally steer away from. As an American Travel Wellness Expert and Integrative Nutrition Health Coach I am passionate about helping Americans to look and feel their best in the New Normal. The healthy look and feel comes from food, therefore I create beauty itineraries based on beauty, balanced nutrition, and business type they perform. Here are the 3 common nutrition mistakes made during travel:

– We drink alcohol on the plane  – consuming one alcoholic drink in the highly air decompressed environment 35,000 feet above sea level is an equivalent of 3 drinks consumed on the ground, not to mention, increased sugar, high blood pressure and red skin. If you want to enjoy a glass of your favorite Martinis the right place is before the take off

– We never say “no” to the free salty snacks – salt will store water in your body and in combination with the decompressed air on the plane, it will make your body bloated and inflamed. Therefore, any salty snacks i.e. peanuts, pretzels, chips must be avoided during flight

.- We love to finish our meal with tea and coffee – many stomach problems are caused by drinking tea and coffee on the plane. The water used for tea and coffee is never boiled, therefore if you have a sensitive stomach, you may experience unnecessary consequences.
Avoid these three common mistakes and you will enjoy a healthy, guilt – free travel!Connect with me on social media so that we can chat more @edytasatchell
